With 25 years of structural engineering and consulting experience, Kenny Yip spent the first nine years of his professional life working as a structural design engineer in the United States on diverse projects, including residential, commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, agricultural, and underground utility structures.
Since 2008, Kenny has focused primarily on existing buildings, providing services related to structural condition assessment, investigation, and remediation; seismic evaluation and retrofit; insurance claims and forensic structural consultation; and tenant improvements across Canada and the United States. Kenny est membre du comité de l'évaluation de l'état structurel des bâtiments existants au sein de la Structural Engineers Association of BC (SEABC).
After joining J.S. Held in February 2023, Kenny has focused on structural forensic engineering, insurance claims, damage verification and remediation of damaged structures, causation investigation of structural failures & collapses, litigation, and standard of care investigation.
Kenny is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. He received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
